El Gran Venado is an upcoming 3D animated series currently in development as a collaborative project with friends. This lineup showcases a selection of character designs developed for the production, including Itzel, Balam, Dzan, Yatzil, Yunuen, Aayin, Iktan, Kabah, Yatzil and Kamal.
Most of the character designs were developed by me, while some were based on initial sketches created by other artists on the team. Balam was based on a sketch by Manuel Flores Mota, while Ajin and Kamal were based on sketches by José Manuel Mendoza. The series was created, written, and directed by Emmanuel Echeverría Mata.
The focus was to establish a cohesive visual identity for the characters while exploring their silhouettes, clothing, proportions, accessories, and distinctive visual traits. The designs were developed with the requirements of a 3D animated production in mind, translating the initial concepts into designs that could effectively support the modeling and animation process.
